Samson was born in Shanghai, China on November 3, 1973. He and his parents, Kenneth and Linda Cheng, immigrated to the Los Angeles area in 1985. Samson studied Biochemistry at UCLA and further completed his training in Dentistry and Orthodontics at UCLA. He also spent several years as a teaching assistant for the Biochemistry Department throughout his years there. He found great joy in teaching his favorite subject, organic chemistry. Samson spent over 13 years at UCLA; he was a true Bruin!
After the completion of his orthodontics training, Samson married Tracy, who he had met during his undergraduate years at UCLA. They were married in 2006, in Los Angeles.
Samson enjoyed eating, traveling, playing video games, and spending time with friends. He loved outdoor activities like hiking in Temescal Canyon and riding bikes along the Santa Monica beach. Samson had a gift for connecting with people and was always enthusiastic about gathering friends together. He was also passionate about dentistry and loved to talk about teeth!
Samson is survived by his wife, Tracy; and his parents, Kenneth and Linda Cheng. Samson was a loving son in law to Jim and Linda; loving brother in law to Cindy, Jennifer and Hamilton; and a very fun and loving uncle to Jackson and Cassidy.
Samson will be missed greatly and always remembered, especially for his huge, contagious smile.
